JAY'S LAIR BOOK REVIEWS

Search Jay's Lair Book Reviews:

For now, I will simply be listing books that I own and have read, or will be soon reading, as well as some reviews. Perhaps I shouldn't call them reviews, since they are not your typical review. More like a blending of review and summary. Sometimes detailed, at other times perhaps no more so than a cover blurb. So be forewarned, while I will try not to reveal too much, there will certainly be alot of detail in most cases.

In The Company Of Others by Julie E. Czerneda

Been an awfully long time since I've posted here, and I apologize for that. I'll be changing the front page a little in the next week or so and start posting reviews again soon. Most reviews in the next month will be rather brief as I try to catch up.

Most recent post:
Meridian by James Wittenbach

Some of the reviews I'm working on:
The Assassin's Dream by J.D. Townsend, the solid Infinity Beach by Jack McDevitt, the fantastic Beholder's Eye by Julie E. Czerneda, David Brin's The Postman, Going Postal and Night Watch by Terry Pratchett and two L. Ron Hubbard collaborations. Told you I was behind.

If you're interested, here's a list of the books I've read in 2005 (will update soon)

There's just not enough time in the day to read, what with work and such getting in the way. Although I've been finding more time to read lately, the to be read pile continues growing. The site has finally grown large enough that having all the links to the various reviews on one page is getting a bit cumbersome, so I'll soon be changing the layout.

Recent reviews:
Joseph J. Ellis' Founding Brothers
Jon Fasman's The Geographer's Library
Stargate SG-1: The Price You Pay by Ashley McConnell
The Wreck Of The River Of Stars by Michael Flynn
Stir Of Echoes and Now You See It... by Richard Matheson

Stumbled upon a really really cool internet-based game called The Last Knights. Simple graphics, but immensely entertaining and quite addicting. Still has the occassional bug but is constantly being tweaked and is expanding at a fantastic rate. There's no harm in checking it out, so what are you waiting for? You ain't scared, are ya?

Tshirt I'm selling some books (and other items) on eBay and half.com, so for anyone interested, check out my eBay auctions and/or my half.com items

Own this shirt, just the first of some things I'll be selling at Cafepress.com. Hope to have a book of short stories available by the end of the year.

YOU CAN'T STOP THE SIGNAL !

The Firefly movie, Serenity is out and it simply ROCKS! Fans will love it. I guarentee it. I think most people who have never heard of Firefly will enjoy it as well. Either way, Go See It. It has to make enough money to warrent a sequel or I'll cry for a month. Nobody wants that, do they?

Visit Serenity: The Official Movie Website or assist in the fight against the Alliance by joining The Browncoats.

A number of the books reviewed here were borrowed from Booksfree.com, a fantastic service that I recommend to anyone who loves books, but hates to pay 7.99 for one paperback.

For anyone interested, here are some random thoughts about books, authors, movies and sci-fi in general. Everything from Stephen King, Robert Jordan, Fox network's infinite wisdom and Arnold Schwarzenegger's perfect role.

Some reviews will have links to spoiler pages, where certain details that are better left unknown before reading are revealed. These pages will be clearly marked and are mostly for my benefit, to remember details and such. I would not recommend you reading these if you are planning on reading the books in question.
